So the temp here was in the 40s today. I had a full tank of gas and set out to finally go for a ride that lasted more than a few miles. 20 minutes later, I pulled over as the fuel gauge showed a half tank. Gas was pouring out of the scooter and formed a puddle.
Using the toolkit from 1987, I removed the side panel and found the culprit. The fuel line was brittle and had finally cracked.

D'oh! Time to replace those lines! At least it's a cheap and easy fix.

If I had taken more pics I would have made a proper post about it. I rode straight home, stopping for gas on the way. Took the car to home depot, bought $5 worth of tubing, came home, and fixed it. Afterwards I went out for maybe an hour and a half, no gas leaks.
